The Summer Photography Week

On Monday the 6th of August we held our Summer Photography Week. Students between the ages of 13 - 17 signed up to learn and improve their photography skills.

During the week long course we took an in depth look at all things photography such as, understanding camera functions, camera modes, focus, ISO, depth of field, composition, white balance, RAW & JPEG, and engaging with people and directing your photos.

Each day had a different theme or project that the students would learn and experiment with in the morning and then put into action during the afternoon session of the day, all of which took place at a number of different locations throughout Bedford.

Each student started of the week with basic level knowledge of photography and weren't getting the best out of their cameras. By the end of the week we can safely say that every student now has a much deeper knowledge of photography and how their cameras work. Not only that but their ability to capture much better photos has increased tenfold.

We'll be uploading their favourite images that were captured during the week to our website and sharing them on social media in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for the fantastic images shot by the students. Here's a couple of images shot by Lorna Lock and Hugo Crannis.
